8. The coffin of Haty

This brightly painted coffin belonging to a man named Haty from 8th century BC Thebes is superbly decorated both inside and out. The coffin comes from the collection of Sir Robert Mond of Wigan, an industrial chemist whose chief recreation was Egyptian archaeology.
